Central Office Rules
Objective:
To raise funds for the Foundation through friendly competition among KCKPS Staff.
Rules:
Participation Eligibility for KCKPS Central Office Departments
- All KCKPS Central Office departments are eligible to participate.
- Departments with 15 or fewer staff members may team up with one other department (also with 15 or fewer staff) to form a team.
- The maximum number of departments in a team is two.
- Each department/team will designate a representative for the competition.
Collection Period:
- The penny war will run from Friday, December 6th to Tuesday, December 17th, 2024.
- Coins and bills can be collected during regular working hours and designated locations.
Point System:
- Positive Points:
- Nickels: 5 points each
- Dimes: 10 points each
- Quarters: 25 points each
- Dollar Bills: 100 points each
- Negative Points:
- Pennies: 1 point each
Winning Criteria:
- The department or team with the highest point total at the end of the collection period will be declared the winner.
- If there is a tie, a tiebreaker activity will be held to determine the winner.
Prize:
- The winning department or team will receive a coffee truck
Fair Play:
- Participants must adhere to fair play principles and avoid any unethical behavior, such as tampering with jars or harassing other participants.
- Schools are responsible for monitoring and ensuring fair play among their staff.
Safety:
- Participants should handle coins and bills carefully to avoid accidents.
- Departments and teams should implement safety measures to secure the collected funds.
Transparency:
- Departments and teams should maintain accurate records of their collected funds and point totals.
- Competition updates will be shared with the community through the Foundation's website and/or social media.
School Building Rules

- Each building will designate a specific class or team to represent them in the Change for Change Competition.
