Katrena Richard
Educator | Washington High School | Class of 2004
Katrena Richard has returned to Washington High School to invest in the same community and athletic programs that helped shape her. A 2004 graduate and former Washington basketball player, she now serves KCKPS as a teacher and head coach, guiding student-athletes in the classroom, on the court, and through the everyday challenges of growing into confident young adults.
Coach Richard’s impact extends well beyond practices and game nights. She serves as a mentor, tutor, and trusted role model, reinforcing the importance of academic achievement, personal responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance. She celebrates students’ successes, supports them through disappointment, and holds them accountable while reminding them of their potential. Her commitment has earned the respect of athletes, families, colleagues, and the wider school community. By returning to her alma mater and consistently showing up for students, Katrena is helping develop stronger athletes, successful students, and young people prepared to lead with confidence and character.
Your support of the Reasons to Believe campaign helps us celebrate and uplift the outstanding individuals in our community while also providing vital scholarships and resources that empower students to achieve their dreams.
