Jeff Miles

Jeff Miles combines hands-on technical experience, private-sector leadership, and public service to improve infrastructure and quality of life across Wyandotte County. Raised in Kansas City, Kansas and a 1989 graduate of J.C. Harmon High School, he earned an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license before beginning a 27-year career in heavy equipment. He advanced from technician to vice president of a $70 million dealership, developed high-performing teams, and contributed to innovations in racetrack sweeping and drying operations used in professional motorsports.
Jeff later brought that experience home to the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas. After serving in street and fleet leadership roles, he became Director of Environmental Services, overseeing a $67 million wastewater, stormwater, and flood-protection utility. His work has emphasized workforce development, fleet modernization, public education, and long-term operational sustainability. Jeff also participates in neighborhood meetings, school programs, community cleanups, and efforts to prevent illegal dumping. His practical, collaborative leadership reflects a strong commitment to accountability, developing future leaders, and serving the community that helped shape him.
