Gayle D. Lee has spent more than four decades helping students, educators, and families see greater possibilities for their futures. A graduate of Sumner High School, she built a career as an educator, principal, mentor, nonprofit leader, and community advocate. In each role, Gayle has been known for recognizing potential, creating opportunities, and offering the encouragement students need to overcome obstacles.
Retirement did not end her commitment to service. Gayle continues to volunteer as Workshop Committee Chairperson for the Chandler/Turner Scholarship Fund, where she helps design and lead educational workshops that prepare students to navigate life after high school. Her work equips young people with practical information, confidence, and resources for higher education and meaningful careers. Colleagues and community members describe Gayle as humble, compassionate, and selfless—a leader who responds to needs without seeking recognition. Her lasting impact can be seen in the students she encouraged, the educators she mentored, the families she supported, and the scholarship opportunities she continues to help make possible.
