Elizabeth Davis Frizell

Distinguished Alumni  |  F.L. Schlagle High School  |  Class of 1985

Elizabeth Davis Frizell has built a distinguished legal and judicial career grounded in public service, fairness, and community leadership. A 1985 graduate of F.L. Schlagle High School, she has served as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Texas Attorney General’s Office and worked with a U.S. Department of Justice narcotics task force. Her judicial service has included municipal courts in Balch Springs, Lucas, and Princeton, as well as service as an Associate Municipal Court Judge for the City of Dallas. She currently serves as Presiding Judge of a Dallas County criminal court.

Judge Frizell has received recognition for both judicial excellence and community service, including Judge of the Year honors and a humanitarian award from the National Council of Negro Women. She regularly speaks on law, leadership, domestic violence awareness, and civic engagement, and she has mentored young people, especially women and students of color, who are considering careers in law and public service. Her journey demonstrates the lasting impact of preparation, perseverance, and a commitment to lifting others.
