Dawanda Dawn is a dedicated educator and care professional with over 17 years of experience in early childhood and special education. Currently serving as a Special Education Teacher at Schlagle High School, Dawanda has a proven track record of fostering student independence and success in both traditional and online classroom settings. Her expertise spans lesson planning and curriculum development, as well as operations management and learner evaluation, consistently building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Before her current role, Dawanda was a valued Paraprofessional at both Schlagle High School and West Middle School, where she pioneered innovative life skills programs and facilitated interactive learning experiences. Her experience also includes healthcare roles as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Personal Care Technician, where she was recognized for exceptional client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
As the former owner and operator of Angels from Heaven Daycare Home, Dawanda provided 24-hour care, developed age-appropriate curricula, and maintained all business operations, demonstrating her versatility and commitment to child development.
Dawanda holds a Master’s in Special Education from Fort Hays State University, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Leadership from Donnelly College, and an Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education from Kansas City Kansas Community College. Her dedication is further reflected in multiple honors, leadership roles, and ongoing community service.
