Bishop Daniel M. Jordan
Bishop Daniel M. Jordan is a prominent spiritual leader and the esteemed founder and pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ in Kansas City, MO. With unwavering faith and a deep commitment to his congregation and community, he has left an indelible mark on the lives of countless individuals.
A native of Kansas City, KS, Bishop Jordan matriculated through the Kansas City, KS Public Schools where he graduated from Sumner High School in 1951.
Bishop Jordan's spiritual walk began with a profound calling to ministry at 16. He dedicated himself to theological studies and pastoral training which led to his attaining three terminal degrees (D.D., Ph.D., and a Th.D.) from renowned seminaries. Bishop Jordan's passion for spreading the message of faith, hope, and love led him to establish, along with his late wife Mother Mary M. Jordan, the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, in 1956. What began as a congregation of one in a small storefront, the church has evolved into a vibrant and inclusive community of Christian believers.
Under Bishop Jordan's leadership, the church has thrived as a place of worship, spiritual growth, and community outreach. In 1965, the growth of the congregation resulted in the acquisition of their second location. Eighteen years later Bishop Jordan led his growing flock to step out on faith and acquire their third edifice. After raising over $1,000,000 in one month to secure a 53,000 sq. ft. synagogue that included a 1200-seat sanctuary at 800 E. Meyer Blvd, in Kansas City, MO, it became known as "The Miracle on Meyer." Accomplished by a predominantly African American, blue-collar congregation was a feat that established Bishop Jordan as a model pastor and leader among his peers. Bishop Jordan's commitment to fostering a welcoming and nurturing environment has made the church a second home for its members.
After being consecrated Bishop in February 1985, he later established the Midwestern Diocese. In January 1999, Bishop Jordan joined the faculty of Friends International Christian University as a professor teaching Biblical Studies.
Over 40 years, Bishop Jordan's dynamic and inspiring sermons have been heard every Sunday at 1:30 p.m. on the radio via KPRT 1590 AM. His Five-fold ministry has touched the hearts of many individuals from all walks of life suffering from emotional, mental, and physical disorders.
Beyond the church's walls, Bishop Jordan is a dedicated servant of his community. He actively engages in various charitable initiatives, addressing issues such as homelessness, hunger, and youth mentorship. His leadership far exceeds spiritual matters, and he is seen as a pillar of support for those in need.
Bishop Jordan's impact reaches far beyond his immediate congregation. He is a respected figure among his peers and inter-denominational leaders, often called upon for guidance and wisdom in faith and community service. Serving in his 75th year of ministry and known as the oldest Senior Pastor in the Greater Kansas City Area (91 years old), Bishop Jordan continues to inspire lives with a message of hope, love, and faith in God.
