Dr. Enjoli Avila is a distinguished educational leader and a proud 2003 graduate of Sumner Academy. She currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Organizational Leadership for the North Kansas City School District, where her visionary leadership and commitment to student success have made a profound impact. Previously, as Principal of Chapel Hill Elementary, Dr. Avila was recognized as the 2022 Distinguished Principal of the Year for her outstanding guidance and innovation.
Dr. Avila began her career as a 3rd and 4th-grade teacher in the Lee’s Summit School District, quickly earning admiration for her passion, compassion, and unwavering dedication to children. As a woman of color in educational leadership, she is celebrated as a role model, known for her exceptional insight, clear communication, and deep empathy.
An alumna of the University of Missouri and the University of Central Missouri, Dr. Avila is also a devoted wife and mother of two. Her commitment to her family, church, and community is evident in her caring, purposeful leadership and her relentless advocacy for all children. Dr. Avila exemplifies integrity, dignity, and a belief in helping others reach their full potential—qualities that inspire the next generation to dream bigger and achieve more.
