LaRon Thompson

Alumni | F. L. Schlagle High School, Class of 2009

Pastor LaRon Thompson a native of Kansas City, KS (Wyandotte County) was born on June 20, 1991 to Trina (Wayne) Crawford and Reginald E. Thompson. A proud Wyandotte Countian, LaRon is a product of the Kansas City Kansas Public Schools. From Vance Elementary to F.L. Schlagle, he is proud to represent him hometown.

Pastor T as he is affectionately known was inspired in life by many educators within KCKPS. Ms. Riley, Mrs. Nesby, Ms. Biddle, Mrs. McCluney, Mr. Ammons, Mrs. Thomas, Mrs. Dorian, Mrs. Johnson, Ms. Rainey, Mrs. Brown and Officer Singleton just to name a few. None more important than that of his parents, Bishop Benard Crawford (Dad) and Evangelist Trina Crawford. All these individuals have and many more shaped LaRon into the man he is today. His mom and dad instilled a strong sense of character, morals and integrity and that has been the framework for Pastor Thompson’s life.

It was from that foundation that Pastor T would begin to develop a passion to serve community over self. From a young age, LaRon was intentional and made a difference in community. Serving as Student Council President, Board Member for the Superintendents Youth Council or the Mayors Youth Advisory Council, it has always been about community. Service over self is what helped him graduate from High School in KCKPS. In 2009 he graduated from F.L. Schlagle High School and went on to study Psychology at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. This experience away from home perpetuated the need for service to our impoverished and oppressed communities.

LaRon are worked professionally in the healthcare fields, serving local home health care agencies as a Case Manager and Office Manager for several companies in Kansas City. This was both a joy and sorrow, as he would witness a great need to many, who needed physical and financial aid. Pastor T loved serving the in the community. In 2018, he would be asked to consider applying for the Interim Pastor role at Paseo Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. After much thought and consideration, he applied and was hired to become the Interim Pastor. Throughout his time as Interim Pastor, he would work diligently to build upon the established legacy of the previous Pastors (Rev. D.A. Holmes and Rev. Dr. Charles J. Briscoe).  In 2020 after careful deliberation, Pastor T would accept the permanent role at the Senior Pastor of PBC. Since that time, Paseo has seen both strong and consistent growth. Maintaining and establishing ministries within the church has been vital to the success. It is because of the strong leadership of Pastor T that PBC survived a global pandemic. LaRon continues to thrive both in public and the pulpit. Supporting organization in both Kansas and Missouri (The Village KC, BLOC, KC United, High Aspirations) he always finds a way to show up for others.

Beyond the pulpit, what Pastor Thompson is most proud of is his family. His wife of four (4) years Kaliesha Thompson (Spelman Alumnae) and their young black princes, Jaedon and Kaleb are his world. They all have a heart of Service over Self. Giving back to others is something the Thompson Tribe loves to do. LaRon and his wife are proud owners of KLT Masterpiece Coaching and Consulting. An agency that is designed to support other non-profit organizations to grow and develop staff with consideration of mental health, leadership and professional development. In his spare time, LaRon loves to travel, golf, listen to live music and most importantly COOK. Many refer to him as Chef Boy LT. He shows his love through the kitchen. LaRon’s life message is simple Live, Lead and Love. When we do that TOGETHER we can make our communities better one life at a time.
