Delia Marin

Alumni | J.C. Harmon High School, Class of 1982

Delia Marin is a highly accomplished C-Suite executive and entrepreneur with over 35 years of experience in business consulting, procurement, and leadership. Known for her strategic acumen and visionary leadership, Delia has played a pivotal role in guiding organizations to achieve significant growth and operational efficiency across diverse industries. Currently, Delia serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Tico Productions, LLC and Tico Sports, as well as the Chief Operating Officer of The Latino Coalition. In these roles, she is instrumental in driving operational strategies and fostering organizational excellence. Her leadership has been key in optimizing company operations and spearheading initiatives that have led to substantial improvements in efficiency and market expansion. 

In addition to her roles at Tico Productions and The Latino Coalition, Delia is the Chief Executive Officer and Partner at Es Lo Mio Designs, LLC, a new venture in Latino inspired sports apparel. Her work with Es Lo Mio Designs showcases her entrepreneurial spirit and her ability to lead and grow new ventures in a competitive market. Delia’s career includes a notable tenure at the UMKC Small Business & Technology Development Center, where she worked as a Procurement Specialist and Business Development Consultant. In this role, she was a key contributor providing critical coaching and support to businesses seeking to scale and enhance their operations. Her efforts helped numerous businesses navigate complex procurement processes and achieve sustainable growth.
 

Over the course of more than three decades, Delia provided management consulting, marketing services, and coaching to a diverse range of clients. Her expertise in these areas helped organizations streamline their operations, develop effective marketing strategies,
and achieve their business objectives. Delia has also held several notable positions in nonprofit and educational sectors. She served as the Director of College Relations and Admissions at Donnelly College, where she was instrumental in fostering community relations and enhancing the college’s outreach efforts. Additionally, her role as the Kansas Regional Office Director of Project Ayuda at the National Association for Hispanic Elderly involved leading initiatives to support Hispanic elderly populations in the region.

Delia also played a significant role at Kansas Speedway, where she held roles as Employee Development Manager and Public Affairs Manager. Her contributions in these roles were vital in shaping the organization’s employee development programs and public relations strategies. Delia’s entrepreneurial spirit comes from growing up in a family business in the Argentine Community with Marin’s La Fiesta Restaurant, Marin & Sons Imports, Inc. and Marin’s Mexican Products. As a first generation Mexican-America, first in her family to go to college, and a proud “Dotte”, Delia credits her parents in instilling a strong work ethic and a responsibility to give back to the community. As a result, and in addition to her professional achievements, Delia is deeply committed to community involvement and board service. She currently serves as a Board Member for WIN for KC and Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City and the Heart of KC Board. Her past board roles include significant positions with the American Red Cross, Donnelly College Board of Trustees, the United Way, and the KCK Area Chamber of Commerce.

Delia is also an alumna of Leadership 2000 and the FBI Citizen’s Academy and has been recognized in Donnelly College’s Alumni Hall of Fame for her contributions and leadership. Her commitment to global and local communities is further reflected in her role as Chair of the KCK Sister City Committee with Uruapan, Michoacan, Mexico.

Educationally, Delia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from the University of St. Mary, Leavenworth, KS. She has pursued continuous professional development through various certifications, including the Kaufman FastTrac Planning Entrepreneurial Certificate, the Certificate in Fundraising Management from The Center of Philanthropy at Indiana University, and Contract Management from Duke University. She is also a Certified CVE Verification Counselor, Certified Transformational Coach, and GrowthWheel Certified Business Advisor. 

Delia’s multilingual proficiency and her ability to bridge cultural gaps have been instrumental in her roles, allowing her to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and expand opportunities across markets. Her extensive experience, combined with her dedication to community service and professional development, underscores her exceptional capabilities as a leader and strategist.
